Strategy games for people who like to take their time
I'm bad at fast strategy games. My brain just doesn't process a real-time swarm quickly enough. So I gravitate toward the turn-based and slow-sim end of the genre, and mobile has plenty there.
Ironheart Frontier is a good example. It gives you time to plan, weigh your resources, and commit to a move without a clock screaming at you. That kind of pacing suits a phone, where interruptions are constant.
The trade-off is a steeper start. These games often front-load complexity, and the tutorials aren't always great. My tip: give any promising strategy game two full sessions before judging it. The systems usually click on the second sitting.
If you've bounced off strategy games because they felt stressful, look specifically for turn-based or settlement-building ones. The genre is much friendlier than its reputation suggests.
