How to keep a small, worthwhile mobile backlog
My phone used to be cluttered with games I'd tried once and forgotten. Now I keep maybe six installed, one per mood, and it's made playing feel intentional again.
The trick is variety over quantity. I keep one long RPG for when I want to sink in, one cozy sim for winding down, a quick racer for short bursts, and a card game for something brainy but low-stakes. Whatever mood hits, there's a fit.
Rotate ruthlessly. If you haven't opened a game in two weeks, uninstall it — you can always reinstall, and cloud saves usually keep your progress safe. A cluttered home screen makes choosing harder, and choosing paralysis kills the fun.
This isn't about being minimalist for its own sake. It's about making sure the games you keep are ones you'll actually return to, instead of a graveyard of half-played installs.
